In short
- Test the commute, parking, internet and power at the times you will actually be there.
- Compare the total monthly cost including taxes and extras, not the headline price.
- Look for a ladder of options so you can grow without moving.
- Always tour before you commit.
Jaipur's coworking scene has grown quickly, and from the outside many spaces look alike: bright photos, plants, a coffee machine. The differences only show up after a few weeks of actually working there, when the WiFi drops during a client call, parking runs out mid-morning, or the all-inclusive price turns out to have extras.
This checklist will help you compare spaces properly before you commit. Take it on your tours, ask the same questions everywhere, and you will quickly see which spaces are built for work and which are built for photos.
01Location and the daily commute
The best workspace is the one you will actually go to. Map the commute at the time you would really travel, not on a quiet Sunday afternoon. Traffic varies a lot by route and time of day, and a short drive on paper can easily double.
- How long is the commute at your real start time?
- Is it easy for clients and new hires to find, and easy to explain over the phone?
- What is nearby for lunch, banking and errands?
For reference, Arspace is at C-61, Jan Path, Lalkothi, Jaipur, behind Vidhan Sabha Road, with restaurants, cafes and banks nearby.
02Parking
In Jaipur this is not a minor detail. Ask whether parking is included, whether it covers both two-wheelers and cars, and whether it fills up. Ask about visitor parking too: a client who circles the block for fifteen minutes arrives at your meeting already annoyed. Arspace has ample parking for two-wheelers and four-wheelers, complimentary for members.
03Internet you can rely on
Every space claims fast WiFi. What matters is the speed at peak hours, what happens when the connection drops, and whether video calls stay stable. Run a speed test during your tour and, if you can, join a short video call from the desk you would use.
- What is the connection speed, and is it fiber?
- What is the plan for outages?
- Is the network secured, with separate access for guests?
04Power backup
Power cuts still happen. Ask exactly what is backed up (just the lights, or the desks, WiFi and air conditioning too) and for how long. A space without proper backup turns a short outage into a lost afternoon.
05Working hours and access
Check the hours against how you actually work. If you regularly start early, finish late or need weekends, make sure the space matches your schedule. Arspace, for example, is open Mon – Sat, 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM, which suits most office routines.
06The right mix of spaces
Your needs will change. A good space offers a ladder of options, such as day passes, hot desks, private cabins, meeting rooms and a virtual office plan, so you can move up or down without moving out. Ask what each option includes and how easy it is to switch.

07Meeting rooms
- How many people does the meeting room seat?
- Is a screen or projector included, or is it extra?
- How is it booked, and how far ahead do you need to book at busy times?
- Can non-members book it for client visits?
08Transparent pricing
Ask for the full monthly cost in writing, including taxes. Then ask what is not included: printing, extra meeting room hours, guest passes, parking, storage. Compare spaces on the total you will actually pay, not the number on the banner.
| Ask about | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Taxes | Headline prices often exclude GST |
| Security deposit | It changes how much cash you need upfront |
| Notice period | How quickly you can leave or downsize |
| Meeting room hours | Extra hours can add up fast |
| Lock-in period | Longer lock-ins reduce flexibility |
| Longer-term discounts | Quarterly or annual plans are often cheaper |
09Cleanliness and upkeep
Look at the washrooms, the pantry and the corners of the room. Ask how often the space is cleaned. Daily housekeeping should be the minimum for a place you will spend eight hours a day in.
10Comfort for long days
Sit in the chair for twenty minutes. Check the desk height, the light at your seat, the temperature and the noise level. Look for a mix of zones: focused desks, somewhere to take a call and somewhere to step away from the screen.
11Community and events
Community is hard to judge in one visit but worth asking about. Who works here: freelancers, startups, larger teams? Are there events, workshops or meetups? Even occasional introductions can turn into clients, collaborators or hires. Arspace hosts regular networking events, workshops and community meetups for its members.
12Security and the small things
- Who can enter the space, and how are visitors handled?
- Is there lockable storage?
- Who receives your mail and couriers when you are not around?
- Are tea and coffee included, or charged per cup?
13Take the checklist on your tour
Shortlist two or three spaces, visit each at the time of day you usually work, and score them on the points that matter most to you. Price matters, but a slightly more expensive space that saves you an hour of commuting or a dropped client call each week usually pays for itself.
